Hours extended at Oakville’s outdoor pools to help beat heat

With Oakville under a weather warning for severe heat, the town is increasing the hours at its outdoor pools.

Nothing like a refreshing swim in an Oakville pool to beat the heat.

With a weather warning in effect Tuesday (June 18) and Environment Canada calling for dangerously hot humid conditions to remain through the week, the Town of Oakville is extending hours at their outdoor pools.

The town has also added swims to outdoor pools to provide additional options for residents to stay cool.

Outdoor pools now open include:

  • Lions Outdoor Pool – 159 Felan Avenue – Call 905-845-3281 for hours open.
  • Bronte Outdoor Pool – 2184 Hixon Street – Call 905-827-9531 for hours open.
  • Falgarwood Outdoor Pool – 1349 Gainsborough Drive – Call 905-844-4862 for hours open.
  • Wedgewood Outdoor Pool – 351 Cairncroft Road – Call 905-845-9177 for hours open.

Brookdale outdoor pool is currently not open.

Town of Oakville offer a variety of swimming and aquatic programs.

Outdoor pools are closed during thunderstorms and refunds will be issues as applicable. Ran days are non-refundable as the outdoor pools remain open.

The town also offers a Summer Fun Pass where residents ages 2 to 17 can enjoy drop-in recreational swims from June 1 to September 2. The cost per pass is $45.06.
