Summer is here and the Town of Oakville is joining forces with Halton Regional Police to ensure your family’s visit to a local park is a safe, enjoyable one.

Local police and the Town’s Municipal Enforcement Services are once again launching Police on Park Patrol (P.O.P.P.).

With residents looking to spend time at town parks, school grounds and trail systems this summer, there is an increase in the level of complaints and calls for services related to matters in these public areas.

“Project P.O.P.P will help ensure everyone can enjoy these spaces safely with increased patrols at a number of municipal parks, school properties and trails across Oakville,” said Halton police. “The project will include enforcement of town by-laws as well as Provincial and Criminal statutes.”

Those include:

  • Mischief
  • Loitering
  • Underage drinking/drug use
  • Disturbances
  • Noise complaints

The patrol project begins June 28 and runs through the summer to September 1, 2024.

To report nuisance-related concerns, residents can continue to call police on the non-emergency line at 905-825-4777.
